Yesterday, I added a poll to my Instagram stories asking you all what resources would be helpful in helping you plan for your next family, maternity, or newborn session. One answer that I heard repeated over and over again was the constant worry about posing for your session.

I know often times one of the biggest concerns when looking for a photographer is finding someone that fits your style along with your family’s personality. So many of you have told me that when you’re looking for a photographer, you’re looking for someone who can capture meaningful and memorable photos that you can look back on for years to come. And as a photographer and a mother myself, I completely get it! We all want to look back on photos to remember those little moments and see our kids personalities shining through! The last thing that many of you want is something that feels bland or staged.

I believe that aesthetically beautiful photos are only 1/10 of the process during your photography session. My goal during our time together is to capture your family’s emotion and love for one another without feeling boring or posed during your family, maternity or newborn session with me. My goal is to allow you to know what to fully expect so you can feel relaxed and enjoy our time together. I will give you prompts and guide you through during our time together, but your session will also be filled with goofy moments with your kids and one another, so that the emotion feels effortless. And I’ll probably tell you at least a half a dozen times how amazing you look!

When all is said and done, you will have photographs that remind you of a moment that you want to live over and over again.
